Hey people!
On the 24th March I went from Amsterdam to Belgium for an Seminar with the amazing Dan Henderson!
The seminar was great in terms of practiced techniques as well as meeting one of the best guys in the world when it comes to MMA!
The two divison Pride Champion is more then down to earth!
He took his time to work with everybody and didn't let anybody out.
Any question he was asked was anwserd immediately without any hesitation.
We firt started with nice 10 minute warm up.
After that Dan explained us how to keep the correct distance and how to get into the clinch while punching / out of the punching distance. Once in the clinch some possibilities of opening the oponent for knees and uppercuts were shown.
The opening was trained for two possibilities:
1. Forcing the opponent for closing the distance
2. Knoking him eventually out or hurting him ith knees / uppercuts.
From the clinch we worked three different types of taking the opponent to the ground.
Please note that the start was quit the same all the time.
Puncing, thumbling in the right underhook and capture the opponent right shoulder with your left elbow. You would pull down his head/neck to make him straighten out again. From there we would work the possibilties.
Out of the right underhook, we went for the opponent right leg to break his balance and taking him down. Once on the ground you could keep him down, doing some ground and pound or go for submissions.
Another possibility was to go arround your opponent, come to his back and bring him down to his back.

3rd one was a product of the opponant definding the second take down. Then you would switch quickly to the other side and take him down from there (Also from his back).
After that Dan's assistant showed us a very nice shoot possibility.
Of course as always there were many possibilities of doing this so Dan showed us another version. He has also added or better pointed out some weaknesses and where to pay attention.
And for the sweet finish he has shown us an amazing chocke. You can see it from the pictures.
Many thanks to Dan Henderson for this Seminar, http://www.shootobelgium.com/ for making this seminar possible and Marieke from http://www.mixfight.nl/ for taking those amazing pictures of hers!
Thanks
Looking forward to simmiliar opportunities
